Renowned Social Worker and Former Banker Rabindra Nath Padhee passes away

Bhubaneswar (26th October 2025): Former Chief Manager of State Bank of India and respected social worker Rabindra Nath Padhee passed away on the wee hours of Friday, at the age of 75, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service. His mortal remains were cremated later in the day at Swargadwar in Puri, in presence of his close relatives, family and friends.

Born on 14th October 1950 in Berhampur, Shri Padhee served the State Bank of India for more than 37 years in an illustrious banking career marked by integrity, professionalism, and commitment to public service.

Following his superannuation, Shri Padhee devoted his time and energy towards community development, particularly focusing on the improvement of roads and drainage facilities in the Gajapati Nagar area of Bhubaneswar. His selfless contribution significantly enhanced the civic infrastructure of the locality and earned him the admiration of residents and peers alike.

He is survived by his spouse Chandrabati Padhee, elder son Amarendra Padhee who is a renowned architect in Delhi, younger son Samarendra Padhee, a banker by profession, and daughter Kalyani Padhee.

The residents of Gajapati Nagar and officials from the State Bank of India deeply mourned the passing of Shri Padhee, remembering him as a person of simplicity, compassion, and unwavering dedication and commitment. His demise is an irreparable loss to the society and to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
